This furisode is adorned with diamond-shaped motifs arranged across the entire garment, and within each diamond, auspicious symbols are carefully depicted.
The rinzu silk base is white, yet the impact of the gold is so powerful that the white almost disappears beneath its brilliance.
Upon closer inspection, the gold is created using kinsai — a traditional technique in which gold pigment is carefully applied to the fabric.
Because of this, the surface gains a distinctive texture and subtle dimensionality, resulting in a uniquely radiant and luxurious finish.
For those who appreciate it, this is a remarkable work from the Showa era — a truly captivating piece.
As the base color is white, there are some stains and signs of age. However, the bold and striking design is so visually powerful that these imperfections are not particularly noticeable when worn.
That said, there are more visible stains on the lining. For this reason, the price has been adjusted accordingly. We consider the outer fabric to be in wearable condition.
The red hakkake (the inner hem lining) is also quite rare, adding a beautiful sense of movement. It can even be styled in a more dynamic, dress-like manner to highlight this detail.
The impact of the design is so powerful that the stains become secondary when worn.
For those who value artistry over perfection, this is an exceptional opportunity.
As part of our original design, gentle tucks are added around the waist, allowing you to wear it easily in a traditional kimono style. Of course, it can also be styled as a long coat or a dress.
If preferred, you can simply remove the tucks by cutting the thread for a more relaxed silhouette. For a kimono, it’s in very good condition overall, but there are some stains and marks. If you are concerned about these, please refrain from purchasing. When new, this piece could easily have been priced over €1500.
